COMMUNITY PROJECTS

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

~Pablo Picasso

Each of us carries gifts meant to be shared. I’ve come to see purpose not as something we pursue for ourselves, but as something revealed when we place those gifts in service of others. For me, success is measured less by what we achieve for ourselves than by what we make possible for those around us.

CREATORS IGNITE

empowering at-risk youth through ENTREPRENEURSHIP

In Logan Heights, we had the opportunity to help reimagine several underutilized properties as gathering places for local businesses, artists, entrepreneurs, and neighbors. Over time, they became home to food vendors, live music, galleries, coworking, events, and an outdoor climbing gym.

Through that work, we learned that thoughtful development could do more than reactivate buildings. It could provide a platform for the people already bringing creativity, culture, and energy to the neighborhood.

As the projects evolved, we began asking how this growing ecosystem might also benefit local students. What if young people could meet the artists and entrepreneurs around them, hear their stories, and see firsthand how a creative interest could become something more?

Creators Ignite grew from that question.

We started by opening our doors and inviting students in. What began as a series of introductions developed into a structured entrepreneurship and workforce readiness program built around practical education, mentorship, and hands-on experience.

Through college-accredited coursework, applied business projects, and mentorship from entrepreneurs and industry professionals, students learn how to develop an idea, communicate its value, and take meaningful steps toward launching it. To date, half of participating students have earned their first college credits, and more than 75% of Mentorship Program participants have launched a product or service.

At its core, Creators Ignite is built on the belief that young people already have the creativity and potential to shape their own futures. We expand access to the knowledge, relationships, and experiences that help them recognize their strengths, act on their ideas, and create opportunities of their own.
